After a regional search, we are happy to announce the hiring of Patrick Boyle as our new Executive Director, effective March 28, 2017. Patrick has years of nonprofit management and local government leadership experience, which includes the Delafield Area Chamber of Commerce, CelitcMKE (Home of Milwaukee Irish Fest), the Riveredge Nature Center (Saukville, WI), and the City of Cedarburg. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Anthropology and a Master’s degree in Public Administration. According to Sheboygan County Food Bank Board President Eric S. Zufelt, “Patrick Boyle’s vast experience in non-profit management, governance, and local government experience is going to serve the Sheboygan County Food Bank and Sheboygan County well in its mission to strengthen the community’s food security, and emergency food requirements. Over the past several years, the Sheboygan County Food Bank has been undergoing growth, and has several key strategic initiatives to implement in the near term. Patrick is well-equipped to manage these important undertakings.”
“I am excited to join the Sheboygan County Food Bank team and admire the amount of effort the Board and community has put into growing the organization,” Patrick Boyle said. “Unfortunately, there is a need for such an organization in Sheboygan County and we all have to work together to end hunger in the County. The Food Bank strives to have a quick and long-term impact on the lives of people who need help and I am very proud to be a part of an organization that directly improves the lives of people. I can think of no better way to utilize my professional experience and abilities than to help lead an organization with this type of lasting good will and decency.”
The hiring and our other recent organizational moves are the result of recent discussions between leaders of the Sheboygan County Food Bank, Sheboygan community leaders, representatives from Sheboygan food pantries, and a strong group of local corporations, regarding Sheboygan County’s food security and emergency food system and the urgency to provide healthy food to people in need through a well-run and innovative food bank. We also recently hired a Logistics Manager and Outreach and Marketing Coordinator. Liz Kroll, our current Executive Director, will become the Director of the Food Bank and will focus on the Food Bank’s daily operations, and continue to work on improving the food pantry and distribution system. According to Eric Zufelt, “Liz Kroll’s vision and passion for ending hunger and improving food security in Sheboygan County were what motivated the organization to grow and move in a very positive direction. We are a stronger organization because of Liz, who has worked for the Food Bank for nearly 5 years and knows the intricate operations of the Food Bank. This is in many ways “her baby” and the Food Bank is very fortunate to have her here as an integral part of the team to help continue to guide the growth of the organization, and improve the organization.”
Patrick and his family are in the process of moving to Sheboygan. Please join us in welcoming Patrick and his family to the community!
