Stamp Out Hunger
The National Association of Letter Carriers’ annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive is the largest single-day food drive in the country. Prior to mail carriers’ arrival on the second Saturday in May, residents can place non-perishable food items next to their mailboxes. Mail carriers collect and deliver those items to a local food bank, or food pantry. Sheboygan County Food Bank receives donations from Sheboygan, Howards Grove, and Kohler, and relies heavily on these donations to help supply emergency food to partner agencies in the summer months.
How you can help and be a part of the big day:
1. Purchase healthy, non-perishable food items before the second Saturday in May to ensure your donation is not expired.
2. Place the food items in a bag next to your mailbox prior to your letter carrier’s arrival on the second Saturday in May.
3. Let your mail carrier and us handle the rest! With your letter carrier’s help, we will make sure your donation gets to our warehouse safely and out to our partner agencies who serve our neighbors in need.
If you would like to help collect and unload food donations, check back on our volunteer opportunities website page to see when shifts are available.
